Once again, growing up in the South, keeping with our Healthy Living Tip from 2 weeks ago, I know that this is supposed to be healthy, and maybe because of my diet regarding my workout regimen, there are a ton of foods I shouldn’t eat, but with every workout plan, you get a ‘cheat day’, or even just one ‘cheat meal’. This is the day where you get to overindulge perhaps in foods or drinks that you shouldn’t, because you spend the other 6 days eating foods that help advance your exercise goals or whatever. Well this week, I’m including a ‘cheat food’. Haven’t had it in forever (although Margaret Walker’s canned goods has a product of this that you can look up online), but we’re gonna head South, New Orleans style for……..jambalaya!
Between the Cajun spices, Andouille sausages, brown rice and healthy vegetables that can go into it, you don’t have to totally tank your diet to indulge in a good bowl or two, especially at this time of the year!
