When I was a kid in Little Rock or at my great-grandparent’s farm in West Memphis in the summertime, one of my favorite foods to eat was a cold tomato sliced in half with light salt sprinkled on it. Thinking about it now brings back some very fond memories of home, indeed!
Tomatoes are one of the healthiest foods you can eat, be it alone or as a complement to other foods, like a salad. Did you know that, although many think of a tomato as a vegetable, it’s actually classified as a fruit?? Not only do they increase heart health, help prevent cancer, but even I didn’t know that they help reverse damage done by second hand smoke!
