This week has been a rather tough one for me, in that I lost one of my best friends early this past Monday morning. It has caused me to rethink a LOT of things in the wake of his tragic passing, and one thing that has kept popping into my mind is the line “the only guarantee…………is that there ARE no guarantees”.
Needless to say, it has been tough on me, in that we were thick as thieves for over 22 years. None of us saw this coming, and to say many of us are shocked is an understatement.
I must take a line from one of my favorite pro wrestlers, himself taken from us much too early, the late “Gentleman” Chris Adams, who once said about his friend dying way too soon, the late “Gorgeous” Gino Hernandez: Adams said “the finality of death is devastating”. Indeed it is. You start thinking of all the good times with that person, and the good times that will never be now. You start thinking of their family members, how a loss that close to home can devastate a family and familial ties; I know, I’ve seen it personally up close.
I have tried to muster some sense of motivation, but in the immediate, am just not feeling it. Here’s something that I hope will motivate you all instead.
Will post more next week. Until then, always tell someone how much you love them; tomorrow is promised to none of us.
