I will write a much more detailed blog about this within the next few weeks, but before I do, I’m posting the FREE PDF read for the week below, for you to read so that we can all strike up a discussion on it.
Is it tough being a cop? Absolutely. The only thing tougher than being a cop…….is being a Black cop. Unfortunately, as we’ve found out in the cases of Mohammed Noor and the two Black cops convicted of accidentally shooting a young boy in Louisiana (whose own father put his life in jeopardy), even in law enforcement, there are two different strata by which cops are judged. In short, certain cops have privileges to all the rules, whereby ‘other’ cops’ membership in the group comes provisionally.
Provisionally to the point that when claims of racism have been pointed out by Black cops from non-Black cops, these cops were subject to dismissal for their efforts. While it’s easy to say all cops took the job, ergo they knew what they were getting into, it is difficult sometimes to see things from both sides.

This week’s FREE PDF is a VERY GOOD read that demonstrates clearly the divisions that Black cops have to endure to both uphold their oath to the law and at the same time be mindful of the fact that their race remains paramount in the eyes of their peers.
Stay tuned over the next few weeks for an in-depth blog about this very subject.
